THE GIFT…

20130607-220706.jpg

It’s just a few days away and I suppose many of you are in some kinda dilemma already… Yeah I know how it feels… Quite confused you don’t know what I’ll like or won’t like; and as such you been finding it difficult to decide what to buy me and all sorts… Not to worry, in my vintage magnanimity, I’ve decided to come to your rescue… So I’m compiling gestures and items that make my ‘appreciated’ list of gifts… So endear yourself to pay apt attention.

Here we go:::

1. A BIBLE

20130607-145118.jpg
Okay, I’m not trying to form
holy-holy here, but the truth is I’ve not had a bible in over a year or so… Before you crucify me, I meant a presentable hard copy bible… Of course I have bibles on my phone. But I think now is a good time to get a hard copy… And for my preferred translation, guess I’ll still go for The Living Bible…
So as you plan your next visit to Bible Wonderland, add my copy to your list…

2. A brand new phone.
Definitely not a BB as many of you would know… But then, the new Samsung S IV is not looking bad at all, and I’m definitely tripping…

20130607-163345.jpg

20130607-163509.jpgAnd I tell you, it’s just about 100k so u can place your order ASAP… And just in case you’re bothered, I’ve not forsaken my first love yet… Not too soon… As you’re about to find out…

3. iPad mini

20130607-164406.jpgIsn’t it just handy?!? I mean… Since I’m switching my phone allegiance to Samsung, an iPad is definitely a necessity… And I forgot to add, it has to be a 64Gig iPad O… was actually thinking of the 128Gig iPad 4 but for many reasons I’ll manage the mini… last I checked, it’s still around 90k… Chicken change, right? I thought as much!
And as I was typing this, someone informed me that iPad mini 2 is coming out soon… Don’t bother yourself with that, I will manage the one in market already 😊

4. A bottle of Chanel fragrance…

20130607-213138.jpg
No much story here… The one I have is finishing very soon so a replacement is totally in order…
Just make sure it’s original… The last I used was from South Africa, so I don’t mind if you can get yours from France… That’s all

20130607-220947.jpg

5. A MacBook Pro of course…
Haba, I’m not gonna use this my laptop forever na… Abeg the thing don see better days already… Plus the retina display on the new MacBook ehn…

20130607-213516.jpg
You sef see for yourself

6. It’s quite a long list actually… Would loved to add this Canon HD camera

20130607-214701.jpg

Lest I forget…

7. A Monarki branded T-shirt (from Ghana)

20130607-220146.jpg
And you really don’t have to be in Ghana to make your order O, just find the catalogue on Facebook and get me one with a good message… I guess you’ve seen my ‘Christ loves the hell out of you’ shirt… Yea, that’s Monarki for you… So make it happen!!!

20130607-220807.jpg

Like I said, it’s a long list… But just keep your gifts within the ones I’ve managed to outline… Except you’re planning to get me a car anyways…

And on a final note, it will be good you immediately indicate which one you’re getting ASAP so someone else doesn’t get same… You know, I really can’t be carrying two iPads around for instance… You know what I mean… I’m not that proud, you know! At least not yet…

So till we see on the D day… Keep the gifts rolling in…

… And The MEN Glowed

In their usual but always exclusive manner, theĀ MedicalĀ and Dental Year Book Class of 2013Ā (The Xclusives) made another STRONG statement as they wowed the College community, and indeed the University with their academic symposium entitledĀ The Exclusive Doctor: My Career, My Profession.Ā Ā

Contrary to what is the norm in the college of medicine, it was a well-attended event by members of the graduating class as well as students spanning all levels and course… and not to make a mention of the caliber of the high table dignitaries, who believe me, stayed the whole duration of the event… I mean!!!

The Xclusives, all 196 MEN, came out resplendent in different shades of royalty (purple), beauty/love (pink) and maturity (gray)… apparels only befitting of The Exclusive Doctor… pictures, they say speak louder than a thousand words…

The Death of Reality

I can hear the sounds… Rumbles of a city at the edge of a crumble… The people I hear mumble… Even as darkness fills the air of the evening…
The land of Ile-Eko is not new to rancor; from time immemorial, it’s been one issue or the other… Generally, the people are largely not happy with the ‘Ijoba’… But I won’t want to bore you with the history of our sordid recent past… For your information, Ile-Eko has come a long way! In fact, many members of the Ijoba have been around Ile-Eko for a while and attest that the land has seen better days… No doubt!

Now let’s get to the matter of the day.
There seems to be a somewhat silent uproar within certain circles in the land of Ile-Eko even as the people prepare to meet with the Olori tomorrow…. Yes, the meeting with the Olori: that’s exactly the crux of the matter… Or better put, the Olori wants to meet the people… Now this is even one matter of contention: is it the Olori that wants to meet the people OR was it the ‘Asojus’ that requested that the Olori meet with all the people?!? We hope we find an answer to that soon.!. But trusted sources have informed that it is in fact the Asojus that have demanded of the Olori that she must appear before the people… Okay, let’s not jump the gun. Let’s try and put things in the right perspective!
Without much ado, here goes the iroyin: some agents of the Olori, key members of the Ijoba managing the estate of Ile-Eko recently announced an increase in owo-ile, and this has sparked marked agitations amidst the people of Ile-Eko… The Asojus, led by the Asiwaju have met with Olori on this matter and expressed their displeasure and disapproval of the so called increment in owo-ile; and this they say is because there has been practically no improvements in the state of the estate in the past so many years. The fact that the estate is crowded, or over crowded for want of appropriate word to aptly describe the real state. And many more issues about the estate that words can not adequately articulate… As an aftermath of this, it is understood that the Olori has seen reason with the Asojus and as such granted an audience with every member of Ile-Eko to personally explain to them the state of things and give reasons for the recent developments…
So in this vein, the Asojus decided to call a meeting of the Ojogbons just in time before the generality of the people meet with Olori… And it was in this meeting that the Asiwaju gave a report of the meeting of the Asojus with the Olori… But I must tell you, it was a totally different ball game at the meeting of the Ojogbons… In fact, the town hall was in darkness throughout the duration of the gathering of the Ojogbons, but it would interest you to know that this was not enough to deter the Ojogbons from vociferating their ardently held views on what they think of the estate as well as the recent decisions of the Olori… In fact, I think I hear the cry of battle once again…

But as I sat out the meeting of the Ojogbons, I cannot but lament the death of reality… I tell you, reality is dead!!!

As I sat down there, I heard the Ojogbons give so many suggestions, I could see that they were very belligerent and are ready to throw caution to the wind…
In all sincerity, I think the Ojogbons are misguided… Or rather, unnecessarily unrealistic… In fact, I overheard someone say that two members of the Ojogbons were actually more or less playing politics ahead of the next change of government of the Asojus… And now there goes another witless use of urgent matters to score political points ahead of time… a recurring theme in the land of Ile-Eko in recent times, and this is quite a shame…

Not to digress too much… I really don’t want to say too much but there a few things I think the Ojogbons, and in fact the populace of Ile-Eko should be cognizant of…

So if the people refuse the decision of the Ijoba on the owo-ile for the estate, have they considered that the Ijoba can suggest that domicile in the estate is optional and that only interested indigenes should apply?!? What would the Ojogbons do in such a situation? Also, if the Ojogbons refuse to renew their owo-ile, don’t they think the Ijoba can use any means possible to evacuate them from the estate? I mean, does the estate not actually belong to the Ijoba?!? Can the people of Ile-Eko afford to ply their trade from satellite locations if it gets to that level?
For those that think a disrupt of the activities of the land is the way to go, well that does sound like a good idea among the Ojogbons but they should be fully aware of the consequences of any such actions… Can they take a cue from the fact that calendar of the Ile-Eko is already destabilized? Are they ready to spend X more years to ply their trade in Ile-Eko? The option really lies in the hands of the people of Ile-Eko. Every action has its consequence!
Then again, for those who claim the Ijoba packs them like sardine in the estate… what if the Ijoba decides to provide domicile for only a fraction such that they are not packed like sardine, but however a larger fraction of the indigenes have to ply their trade from satellite locations, would this be applauded as a positive move?!?
Oh! I think I’m raising too many questions already… But according to the Olori herself, it’s a matter of being caught between the devil and the deep blue sea… Choices have to be made anyways…
I really cannot fully exhaust my thoughts on this matter arising… Somehow I think I can preempt the answers of the Olori to many of the questions that would be asked her… Except the Ojogbons bring something new to the table… If they go in the might we all saw this evening, the Olori has an answer to all that already, and I won’t be surprised if the Ojogbons are silenced by those answers. In fact, that would actually be a delight to watch!

However, I personally think the Ojogbons and every other person should be well prepared for the approach of the Olori tomorrow…
I would personally appreciate if they can make sensible and reasonable demands of the Olori… And not whimsical vociferations like we all observed at the meeting of the Ojogbon…

I definitely would not say that the Olori should not be questioned… But she must be questioned with relevant facts… I must tell you, she knows her stuff… Truth is all the questions the Ojogbons were raising this evening have already been put forward by the Asojus to the Olori, and I tell you, she dispelled with many of them as wittily as possible… and in my own personal opinion, in all sincerity…

I sincerely wish the Ojogbons a successful deliberation with the Olori tomorrow… while I quietly mourn the death of reality!!! Adieu…

The Error of Esau

20130112-102309.jpg

20130112-102350.jpg

Haba! Don’t even begin to salivate already… I have a story to tell… Oya, let’s get down to business…

A very familiar story; I’m sure one time or the other you must have been quick to dismiss Esau’s misgivings… I mean, how can you explain someone selling his birthright only for a morsel of food… Oh my… He could at least have asked for more! But what if it’s just like what’s served above? Haha… Maybe you’ll excuse him right? Ah…

You still don’t get? I will try to help you put this into perspective.. Yeah, just imagine it: imagine Prince Charles gave away his heirloom over a meal of McDonald’s hamburger… haha… Did you just laugh? I guess Esau deserves every ridicule and scorn we must have directed at him for this singular act of omission… But then, don’t be too quick to judge the poor boy, I mean e was only hungry… Can’t a hungry boy get some food for his empty stomach again? And what’s the fuss about this birthright thingy you guys are making so much noise about sef? It’s not like anyone will take his birthright to heaven O… Have you forgotten: if there’s life, there’s hope… At least let me eat and stay alive… Maybe, just maybe then I can see to this birthright thing again… I mean, I can just talk with over with Jackie and all will be well again…
Alas! Little did poor Esau know… As recorded in the bible, though he sought it with tears, he couldn’t obtain that which he once treasured again…

But what exactly was Esau’s error? What did he do wrong? Or is it now a crime to be hungry?!? Of course not!!!
The basic issue here is that Esau did not treasure eternal things. He wasn’t so bad, yet he was just more concerned about the ephemera… For a split second, he took his eye off the things that really mattered and was hell bent on satisfying a pressing present need…

Now that should sound familiar… talk about five minutes of ‘pleasure’ … Okay, let’s not even go that way. But you know what I mean. Let’s dear Esau some crap and face ourselves… Dint the bible say these were written as examples for us? So we relate with the frailty Esau faced…

How many times have we just for a split second got our focus off the things that really mattered… How many times have we thrown caution to the wind… How many times we’ve settled for immediate gratification… And the list seems endless… Esau has many brothers, you’ll agree with me!!!

Remember, at the time Esau realized his error, there was hardly nothing he could do about it… though he sought it with tears!!!

So you ask me what’s the morale of the story?!? I see… Chill… Apostle Paul aptly articulated my contemplation:

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18

HOUSE

A thousand hearts fused into one
Many souls from many an origin – many a background – many an experience
Different yet similar
Diverse yet united
Individuals yet unified
Joined together into one
Congregated together as one
And bound together by One

Their purpose is singular
Their objectives are the same
Their aim is one
This singular congregation
Associating for collective growth
Uniting for corporate development
Actively engaged in the race
Striving to become as Him who binds them together
Steadfastly poised to change their world

Great may be the challenges
Many may be the battles
Formidable may be the foe
Long may be the road
Tortuous may be the path
But by the power of the Lord their God
Challenges are surmounted
Battles are won
The foe is defeated
The path is navigated
And the destination is sure

These thousand hearts who are one
These many souls thus united
This great association so unified
This glorious fellowship
To which many have come
From which many have gone
Where many still are
And to which many more will yet come
But with the changing generations
The vision remains unchanged
And this vision, shall their Lord fulfil
Making them kings and priests unto God and His Father

My Crush

20121218-154402.jpg

I really don’t think I could have said this any better or easier, but I love you! Yea!!! I really do.
Standing far off, I see all that you go through: the pains you feel, though your face do not show it; the fears in your heart; your many anxieties and all of such. . . I see, and how much I wished you had shared all those with me; as you know, a problem shared is half solved. I look and see those smiles on your beautiful face, oh! how I wished I had put them there. Well, often times I also see the tears that mar your face and how I long to wipe them off your face and bring comfort to your soul. I see how you often feel lonely even in the midst of everyone around you and I can’t but wonder if you knew there is a friend that could actually stick closer than a brother. I am aware of how past friends have failed you, your disappointments and heartbreaks, that I know of… if only you could see that I’ve been here all these while, patiently awaiting your attention. Above all, I so much long to share my life with you, with the hope that we could spend our forever together. Strange and scary it sounds, right? But that’s why have been here all along. To share with you my love, joy and peace so incomprehensible. If only you will say YES and give me a place in your heart, at least for a start, but what I really want is the whole of your heart just as I have given you mine.
You know, I have always pictured a day when we will be together, walking down the road side hand-in-hand, doing some really cool stuffs together, and most likely be the talk of the whole town and make the headlines – that day you finally say YES to me! How I long to see that day come to reality. . .
Oh! are you possibly pondering what I’m pondering… ? Or do you wonder who I am or even where I am?… Well, it’s ME your long lost crush!!!

ā€œbehold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears
My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him,
and he with Me.ā€ {Rev 3: 20}

ā€œ. . . today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts. . .ā€ {Heb 3: 15}

…This is a very old original thought mused over four years ago… And the call still stands… He keeps knocking at the door of your heart… It’s my desire that you yield to his nudge today…

LET’S START NOW

20121002-102153.jpg

Rome they say was not built in a day, but the building started one day, and in fact the conceiving of the idea to build a city started in an instant in the mind of someone somewhere… And today, there is Rome… So in fact, Rome was built in a day…

It is often said that the journey of a thousand years starts with one step!

In the words of the Nigerian national anthem, Arise O compatriots and let’s start now… We have dwelled on our failures past long enough, we have cried about the dearth and gulf between us and the developed world long enough… But when has talking ever solved the problem? No documentation of any such in recent or ancient history… Change only comes about when action is taken!

Looking at our dear nation in comparison to the nations that we envy in terms of advancement an development in every aspect of human existence, one would agree with me that we have a long way to go. Talk of the economy, health care, businesses, technology, to but name a few… It’s just apt to say of Nigeria that there’s much room for improvement. But the purpose of this write up is not to outline the areas where we lag, but rather to charge us all to take the bull by the horn and take action now!!!

You know, personally I’ve always wondered if Nigeria can ever build underground train tunnels or so like we have in most of Europe, the US and even South Africa I guess… There have always been mention of one light rail system or the other, but nothing concrete yet… However, we must not fail to acknowledge the ongoing works in that regard in Lagos and also the ECOWAS project… But the truth is of course we can! All we need do is start! It seems almost impossible, uneasy and so on and so forth… But we can never get there except we start…

Record keeping has been a menace in Nigeria… We say the government has no record of who is who. You can’t even trace anyone to anywhere, unlike you have in say the US where there is a detailed record of almost every individual, their family ties, there address, academic and work history, criminal records, health records, and all the likes… Everyone is more like registered with the government… And yes, we envy this kind of organization and we keep crying why our country can not do same… But what’s wrong with starting now?! What’s wrong with going digital? What happened to the national census as the national ID card scheme that was done a few years ago? Why can’t we just start from those and translate the data collected to a digital database and take it on from there? Why can’t we just start now???
Why can’t we start the process of building a national database that caters for all aspect of the citizen’s life now?!?

And also on the smaller scale, our hospitals for instance especially the government owned hospitals, why can’t we just start keeping an electronic record of our clientele? If we do not start now, when will we ever start? At this age and time, we should be able to access the medical history of any patient by just the click of a mouse and not by searching through some dusty God-forsaken trash of tattered hospital files…

We can go on and on and apply same to every aspect of our national living… But the message is simple, let’s start now!

They say the best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago, but the next best time is NOW…

Arise O Compatriots, Nigerians let’s start NOW…

Happy independence Nigeria… Your best days are yet ahead…

Lessons from ophthalmology…

Recently, I finished my ophthalmology rotations, and I must say it was such a vivifying experience… There was so much to learn, you know! You all know how intricate those small eyes of yours are… However, I learnt a rather important lesson different from the usual academic stuff, though inspired by something with a tinge of academics to it…. Without any much ado, let’s get down to business…

In my 6 weeks rotation in ophthalmology, I gathered that ophthalmologists generally believe we all were born hypermetropic; then the majority attain ametropia as we grow older, and many go on to develop myopia!!!

I find this an interesting thought, as I feel it has a significant bearing to our lives as individuals…

To start with, hypermetropia is an ocular refractive error in which the affected person is able to visualize distant objects comfortably but has difficulty with visualizing close objects… While on the other hand, myopia means one can see close objects comfortably but has difficulties with seeing distant objects… from an ophthalmologist point of view, I won’t say one is better than the other… a middle course being ametropia… though all are equally refractive errors and equally bad.

However, let’s take a lesson from ophthalmology and apply to our lives… It’s common knowledge that we use the word myopic outside the field of medicine, and we often do to refer to someone that fails to see ‘a big picture’ of events or one who refuses to see ahead… Taking a cue from this, and our basic understanding from my ophthalmology rotation, I safely assume that we all were born with an in-built ability to see ahead… We were naturally born progressives, able to look ahead and see the big picture… born with an innate positivity mindedness. In short, we are natural optimists and within us is that daring spirit that’s always longing to get better and do things better… We were innately designed to be the best, to think outside the box, to provide solutions to every challenge that may arise or confront us along the way…
In fact, it’s common knowledge that children are far more daring and daunting than adults: very innovative and always exploring their world… Also, children are much more very believing, very hopeful and positive; very creative and super innovators. How sweet it is to be a child…. Oh, what a beautiful package we are at inception!!!

However sadly, growth happened to us! Not like that is a bad thing in itself, but you can’t imagine how much we have lost just by growing up… Simply put, life besides all things teaches us to be more careful… you know, our parents and the environment start by curtailing our excesses, and in essence killing our creativity! They set rules for us, we become bound by the whims of others… limited to the expectation and approval of society… We simply get restrained to what is considered normal, and the majority remains stuck in this average living… A life of utter satisfaction with the norm and the comfortable; losing any zeal to hope and yearn for more… Just like ophthalmologists believe, here’s where the majority of people are stuck… Normal… Ametropia… The so called average!!! But you ask me, what’s wrong with normal???
Then we have the last group of people… The myopic! Like ocular myopia, they can only see what is at hand… ‘Short sighted’ is the word! I consider it an over adaptation to the so called normal, such that we hardly expect any better from anything… gradually condescending into a state of hopelessness, of negativity and all the likes… And do I blame them? No… Life just happened to them. So who do we blame for this view to life that such people have inadvertently adopted? Guess I am left with no choice than to make them take responsibility for their own response to life…

As I conclude, the morale is simply thus: we all have the innate ability to be better than we are; we are all born as progressives…. This may be the best time to revert to that awesome feature that is a core of our very existence from inception. Be a child again: be creative; be positive!!!!

WHAT WILL BE WILL BE…

20120729-202549.jpg
What will be will be…
(Rom 8: 28; Pro 20: 24; Pro 16: 4; Jer 29: 11; Phil 4: 4; II Cor 4: 16-17; Pro 3: 5,6)
At this present moment I find myself in a dilemma trying to comprehend what had happened. Okay! I know what happened, how, when and where but I just can’t understand ā€œWHY?ā€
It was one of such unusual nights when I decide to take a bath before going to sleep. It was around 11:30pm, less than five hours to when I was supposed to wake up the next morning. I would normally have just gone to bed like that, but on this fateful night I decided to take a bath, and rather unnecessarily, I would like to say. Without further ado, I picked up my lamp and other stuffs and went to the bathroom. Somehow I saw a cockroach and without a second thought I decided to kill it. To cut a rather long story short, in the process of trying to kill the cockroach my hand hit the lamp from where it was placed, and down it went crashing into pieces. A sudden realization dawned on me and I began to wonder: why did I decide to have a bathe tonight? Why did I bring my lamp along? Why on earth did I not just leave the cockroach? Why? Why?? Why???
Ever found yourself in a similar situation where you did something you thought to be so insignificant or even unnecessary but which eventually turned out to be so consequential, either positive or otherwise? Or better still, have you ever woke up on a Sunday morning with such unusual urge to attend a particular church service, for instance, with really no special reason whatsoever; then you get to church and the message literally transformed your life? Then you understand why you had felt you just must be in church. If you’ve ever been in any of such unprecedented happenstances, then you just might appreciate why I was in such dilemma this fateful night.
As I sat down to muse over my predicament that night, something sounded in the inside of me: ā€œboy! What will be will beā€. Oh! How I hate that nursery school rhyme ā€œQue sera sera, what will be will be, sera… blah! blah! blah!ā€ You don’t blame me, would you? The fact is, just like you, I like to feel I’m in charge. That I run things around me or at least think I do. However, also like you I often happen to be victim of many a circumstances. Equally though, I won’t deny that I have had a fair share of the brighter side as well without my slightest contribution or even premonition. So even as much as I want to hate that nursery rhyme, its lyrics seem to pervade my everyday life – what will be will be!
As I sat there trying to understanding why I keep being haunted, so to say, by my much hated rhyme, there came a consolation in my mind: the thought that ā€œall things work together for good to them that love Godā€¦ā€ Oh! What glimmer of hope! However, I was yet to be satisfied. Still, a few more questions demand answers. Even the consoling thought made me wonder; do unpleasant and painful situations work for good? Confused. I don’t think I’m going nowhere until I get all these sorted out. There should be an explanation somehow and somewhere to these.
It’s two days later and I am yet to get my answer. In fact, I must admit I am beginning to forget about it and simply succumb to my much dreaded phrase – what will be will be. Somehow, I happen to be reading in class before this unusual lethargy came upon me. I had intended to read for at least four hours, but it’s just two hours since I arrived class and here I am thinking of leaving already. All the same, I packed my books and headed for hostel. On arriving, I jammed a senior friend who I had not seen for some months, right on the staircase, on his way out of school. DĆ©jĆ  vu! I thought; here we go again! How I would have missed out on his visit had I not obeyed my ā€˜lazy’ instinct to stop reading. Well, as I approached him, he exclaimed ā€œhow the steps of the righteous are ordered by Godā€, in expressing his pleasure to see me. Alas! That was the answer I had awaited for two days, coming right in the middle of another so called coincidence. Right there and then I clearly understood that indeed all things happen under God’s watch and that they ultimately work together for good.

Fate, you may say, or even nature or coincidence, but the truth is ā€œThe Lord works out everything for His own endsā€¦ā€. And they all work together for good to us simply because we love Him and have put our trust in Him. Whether they be good or otherwise, we know He orders our steps towards the ultimate good that we might as yet not be aware of. Did the Bible not say that His thoughts towards us are thoughts of peace and to bring us to an expected end? So you wonder what to do at those times when things seem so bad to have any good in it? When there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel, so to say? Simply rejoice! Again I say rejoice. For our present troubles can in no means compare with the glory that is reserved for us.

As I conclude, remember that what will be will indeed be, but that is because God wants it to be. So in all your ways acknowledge Him and do not lean on your own understanding.

Chicken Republic

20120713-094158.jpg
Hey take it easy! Salivating already? I understand all the delicacies that might have crossed your mind at the sight of my topic of discourse… In fact, I guess you must have taken a mind trip back to the last time you were in chicken republic, or any eatery of that class in particular… Well, just calm down…. There are more pressing issues to discuss and I crave your indulgence to hang with me just a while longer.

So let’s get down to business…

It is no longer news that our dear nation is bereft of leadership. Leaders at every level, have by and large let us down as a people. Everyone everywhere clamours for change. Everyone craves for a better living for self and the populace… In fact, everyone seems to have the perfect solutions to Nigeria’s multifarious problems… Yeah, I mean everyone except those that have been given the political responsibility to cause that change that we all desire… How sad, we must say!
Ours is a case of 150million coaches that seem to always know how best to run our football teams, for instance… With however no consequent improvement in our football. The one person charged with the job of the coach just always turn out to be the worst of the 150million… Or how else do you expect me to explain this…?

Well having said this, it’s important to note that the problem with us as a nation is not one that is farfetched. It’s one of a theoretic approach to every single thing… One of apt policy making but astute-less in implementation… From the top to the bottom, we all are theorists… action now seems a foreign word to our national vocabulary… Words like service and sacrifice are indeed strange tongues that Nigeria may not relate with. Everyone enjoys the comfort zone… Everyone is okay with whatever role they think they play at the present moment, even in the face of this marmount corporate inefficiency and inadequacy… Truth be told, we have not done enough! There is much room for each and everyone of us to take a stand and make a move for the betterness of our dearly beloved nation.
Like Keneth Kaunda similarly asked, I aso ask today: when shall Nigeria be free? When shall we be free from this Chicken Republic?!?! A federal republic of talkers and theorists…
The onus is on us all. Take a stand. Make a move.
Meanwhile, charity begins at home; so I call on every student and youth. Get engaged even at your level now, for posterity would ask you: were you a chicken? Or what did you stand for in your own time? Now don’t even give me that ‘I am apolitical!’ line… You don’t want me to go there now, I’m sure…
Anyways, I sign out with a last sip of my drink here at chicken republic.. Haha, feel free to resume your fantasizing back…
